EAST ANGLIA SBT CLUB CH. SHOW - 15th May 2016
I wish to thank everyone at the East Anglian SBTC for inviting me to judge the Dogs at their Championship Show. I consider it to be a great honour to to judge for this Club, and I thoroughly enjoyed the day and their wonderful hospitality.
May I also express my thanks to my two excellent ring stewards, Jo Blacker and Robert Crick, who kept the classes flowing smoothly.
Most important of all, are my many thanks to the exhibitors who entered their dogs for my assessment.
The overall quality of the dogs was reasonable, although some were lacking the required substance, and although there was only one dog with a misplaced lower canine tooth, there seemed to be more dogs than usual with minor dentition faults (wry incisors, etc.), which can not be ignored.

BRACE (5, 2) Judged jointly
1. Ford and Williams Brace of bitches which were both of good shape and make, and being of similar age are probably used to walking on the split lead, allowing them to move most harmoniously together, in the most orderly manner.
2. Funnell's Again a Brace of bitches of good type and in very good condition. Perhaps the age difference of 7 years, and the fact they were on separate leads prohibited them from appearing to be as fluent.
It was a great honour to be invited to judge for the club for which I serve as Show manager and would like to thank the club for inviting me.
I really enjoyed my day and thank you to my two stewards Terri Morrell and Kim Dowse who did a great job in keeping me on track as well as organising the ring so well. In general I was impressed with the quality of the exhibits. Some decisions were tight and some good bitches went home cardless. Plus points - Head shapes were good, bone was good, mouths were good. There were a few dentition issues but I noticed more width on the lower jaw than in the past so less overcrowding of incisors and a stronger outline to the muzzle. The general fitness and condition of exhibits was good in the main. Minus points – A number of exhibits have poor front feet. In grass this can be hidden but on a hard surface poor feet cannot be hidden. A number of exhibits showed flat feet with splayed toes and long nails which greatly took away from what may have been an otherwise decent bitch. Short or upright upper arms continue to be an issue overall. Plus driving parallel movement continues to be in the minority rather than the majority.
